Jovi Technologies, Inc. ("Jovi," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Jovi mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use our App. By using Jovi, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

When you create an account and use Jovi, you may provide the following information:

Account Registration Name (first and last), email address, phone number, date of birth, and password or authentication credentials (via email, phone, Google Sign-In, or Sign in with Apple).
Profile Information Professional title, school name, graduation date, program hours completed, license state, specialties, certifications, preferred work arrangements, social media handles (Instagram, TikTok), portfolio website URL, salon or business name, business type, location, and capacity details.
Portfolio Content Photos of your work that you upload from your device's photo library.
Application Information Cover messages, work experience, and location data submitted when applying to gigs.
Communications Messages sent through in-app messaging and support requests sent via email.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you use the App, we may automatically collect:

Device Information Device type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers.
Usage Data App interactions, feature usage patterns, crash logs, and performance data collected through Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics.
Location Data Approximate location (when you grant permission) to show gigs and beauty professionals near you. For example, we use your location to display relevant job listings in your area.
Push Notification Tokens Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) tokens to send you notifications about new gig opportunities, application updates, and messages.

2.3 Information from Third-Party Sources

We aggregate beauty industry job listings from third-party job APIs (such as Google Jobs) to display in the "Jobs Near You" section. These are external listings and we do not collect personal data from these sources.

With Other Users

Your profile information, portfolio photos, and application details are visible to other users as part of the marketplace functionality. For example, salon owners can view applicant profiles and portfolios when reviewing gig applications.

Service Providers

We share data with third-party service providers who help us operate the App:

Firebase (Google) Authentication, database, cloud storage, analytics, crash reporting, push notifications, and app security (App Check).
Resend Transactional email delivery (email address and first name for personalization).

These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only for the purposes we specify.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental request, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

Business Transfers

In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored using Google Firebase infrastructure, which provides industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. Sensitive information such as license numbers is stored in a restricted subcollection accessible only to the account owner and server-side processes.

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including Firebase App Check for API security and Firestore Security Rules to restrict data access. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Access and Update You can access and update your profile information at any time through the App's Edit Profile screen.
Account Deletion You can delete your account from within the App (Profile > Account > Delete Account). Deleting your account will permanently remove your user data, profile, portfolio photos, and associated records. This action is irreversible.
Data Export You may request a copy of your personal data by emailing support@thejoviapp.com. We will respond within 45 days.
Withdraw Consent You can withdraw consent for data collection by adjusting your device permissions (location, photo library, notifications) in your device's Settings app. You can also disable push notifications within the App.
Opt-Out of Communications You can opt out of promotional communications by adjusting your notification preferences. Transactional communications (such as account verification) cannot be opted out of while maintaining an active account.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (such as fraud prevention or legal compliance).

Aggregated, anonymized data that cannot identify you may be retained indefinitely for analytics purposes.

8. Children's Privacy

Jovi is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we discover that a child under 18 has provided us with personal information, we will delete that information promptly. 11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy and, where appropriate, provide additional notice within the App. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
